The VidCtrl Video Technology is a multifunctional system for recording, transmitting and processing video signals in high quality over Local Area Networks (LAN) and the Internet. VidCtrl is based on the MPEG-2 compression technique.
The usage of MPEG-2 compression in VidCtrl ensures the high quality of video pictures and video processing.
The VidCtrl Video Technology is set up modularly. It consists of hard- and software components:
- Components for recording and compressing video signals in real-time (Real-time MPEG-2 Encoding),
- Components for transmitting and switching MPEG-2 and information streams over LAN and Internet (Streaming)
- Components for decoding and video processing (Decoding and Recognition).
The single components can be mixed in various combinations, therefore a configuration of video networks with numerous cameras and video monitors is possible.
The display of the video stream is realised by the means of a software decoder without special hardware. On this premise, there is the poteniality to wrap user-specific data and images into the MPEG-2 stream and to show it as an overlay in the decoder. Using chroma-keys, the overlay-elements are layered over the running video semi-transparently. |
